Usually connecting to a different AP after being connected to one already required a full driver reload ( modprobe -r wl & modprobe -i wl), and it was annoying enough I just got rid of the entire laptop.

This happens in the background, without any indication of it actually happening. The wl driver from that package is a kmod, and needs to compile before it can be used. If you restarted imediately after installing the driver, that's likely what went wrong, and would explain why it worked after a reboot.

After that, I joined the WiFi access point closest to me and Voila!ĭHCP works fine, Not seeing constant Request Timed Outs, no need to change IP addresses and also I can use LAN connection as well wireless virtual interface for WiFi connectivity.

Instead of going through all the stuff explained in the guide on how to set up the router as Client Bridge, I just saw a YouTube video clip on how to set up the Router as Repeater which you don't have to be in the same network/subnet as the WiFi access point network.Īfter a factory reset, I simply went to wireless section and set the Router in Repeater Mode matching SSID and Security Password and hit apply. The problem seems to be solved by switching to Repeater Mode! Only if I had known this few months back!

Using Netgear R6400 Firmware: DD-WRT v3.0-r33675M kongac (11/03/17) in Client Bridge mode I tried a lot of researching and troubleshooting but without success. I am having the issue of Request Timed Out.
